Summary:
(1) The fund seeks to replicate the investment performance results of the CleanTech Index that consists of stocks of clean technology companies. A company is considered to be a cleantech company when it derives at least 50% of its revenues or operating profits from cleantech businesses, which are defined as: businesses that provide knowledge-based products (or services) that add economic value by reducing cost and raising productivity and/or product performance, while reducing the consumption of resources and the negative impact on the environment and public health. The index focuses on companies that are leaders in the innovation and commercial deployment of cleantech products/services across a broad range of industries, including, but not limited to, clean energy, energy efficiency and transmission, clean water, advanced materials, ecofriendly agriculture, transportation, manufacturing efficiency, recycling and pollution prevention.
(2) The fund seeks to replicate the investment performance results of the WilderHill Clean Energy Index that consists of the stocks of about 40 companies that are publicly traded in the United States and that are engaged in the business of the advancement of cleaner energy and conservation. The selection of eligible companies is based on an evaluation that such companies will substantially benefit from a societal transition toward the use of cleaner energy and conservation.
(3) The fund seeks to replicate the investment performance results of the WilderHill Progressive Energy Index that includes the stocks of about 44 companies that are publicly traded in the United States and are engaged in a business or businesses that may substantially benefit from a societal shift toward the transitional energy technologies significant in improving the use of fossil fuels and nuclear power.
